Teaching:

Dr. Cliff's primary teaching area is the field of asset pricing, including investments and derivatives. He has taught at the undergraduate, MBA, and PhD levels. Prior to coming to Virginia Tech, Dr. Cliff has taught at Purdue University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He was recognized as a distinguished teacher in the MBA program at Purdue and has taught in the European School of Management's Executive MBA program.

Research:
Dr. Cliff's research interests include investments, banking, and financial markets generally, with a special emphasis on valuation, public utility rate issues, and regulatory finance. He has published articles in many Finance journals. His recent focus is on several investment projects that overlap with his consulting experience. This includes case studies and investigative research on the telecommunications industry.

Business Experience:
After receiving his Bachelor's degree in Finance from Virginia Tech, Dr. Cliff worked for three years as an analyst at First Annapolis Consulting, a boutique consulting firm specializing in the credit and debit card industries. He has also done consulting work performing analysis supporting expert testimony in litigation
