Carl G. Verboncoeur
At the Rockville MD based investment management firm, Mr. Verboncoeur oversaw an innovative business model supporting the manufacture and distribution of mutual fund product, utilizing leveraged and inverse investment techniques and strategies, affording investment advisers maximum flexibility for their active trading strategies.
Under his leadership, Rydex was transformed from a monolithic product manufacturer to a more robust and diversified asset management firm, with a much broader brand and market appeal.
Carl spent his entire career in the financial services arena, with stints at GEICO Insurance, Perpetual Savings Bank and Crestar Bank, prior to his tenure with Rydex.
Carl remains active in the investment management field, currently serving as an independent trustee for a family of exchanged traded funds sponsored and managed by State Street Global Advisors of Boston, MA, and a family of mutual funds sponsored and managed by Motley Fool Asset Management of Alexandria, VA.
He is active in the community and currently sits on the Advisory Council of the Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center. Carl also actively supports his alma mater, Virginia Tech, participating on various business school advisory boards, as well as sitting on the school’s Foundation and Athletic Fund’s Boards of Directors.
Carl holds degrees from Virginia Tech in History, Education, as well as an MBA from the school’s Pamplin College of Business. He currently resides in Potomac, Maryland.
